Re: What to do with JES328X

I think I posted this in another forum, but my PC crashed. The customer in question is migrating from z/OS 2.1 (where JES/328X runs fine) to 2.2 so I was looking for compatibility info, but I could not find it. The latest think I could find was an announcement letter Last revised on January 12, 1999...

Re: What to do with JES328X

Thanks Enrico, That's the sort of general advice we were already given, however, we are not print experts, and so if we were to present the options to the customer, they'd probably want details, such as cost, which we're not supposed to talk about, or effort required, which we're not supposed to giv...

What to do with JES328X

As people may be aware, JES/328X was removed from marketing earlier this week. It also goes out of service in November of NEXT year. and the web page says .. replacement product - none. We still have several accounts that run JES/328X, and, although most of the definitions are 'dead' there is regula...

Re: TLS 1.0 and 1.2

Thank you but that link is for the IBM I 7.1 operating system, which I'd never heard of - had to Google it, .. so I don't believe the commands are applicable. Also, the customer security request/gets the certificate and installs, we just specify the keyring. As for the ciphers, they are not listed i...

secure telnet(and FTP) ciphers

Hi, One of my customers has both secure (encrypted) FTP and secure telnet, the ciphers that they have specified are : SSL_AES_256_SHA SSL_AES_128_SHA SSL_3DES_SHA SSL_RC4_SHA SSL_RC4_MD5 .. which is sort of in line with the TCP/IP ref but that shows them as : SSL_RC4_SHA 4S 05 SSL_RC4_MD5 4M 04 SSL_...

TLS 1.0 and 1.2

Hi, My customer has secure telnet for several of their system. They are still at z/OS 1.12 (an will be till next year). They have advised me that TLS 1.0 should be migrated to TLS 1.2, by June 30. Note that they are not configured for AT_TLS. I have spent a couple of days trying to find out how. One...

Hi, I'm with AT&T, for the past 7 or 8 years - was IBM for almost 30 years. Mostly I've been a Network Systems programmer for both VM and MVS, however, education budgets being what they have been, I have some gaps in my skills/knowledge, especially with the newer z/OS stuff. I'm hoping to get so...
