Re: Are You Lost? Ask a Moderator!
Is it just me that is getting LOADS of e-mails titled "Mainframe, MVS & zOS Discussion Weekly Digest". At the same time, I followed the link at the bottom of the mail, looked in my User Control Panel which told me I wasn't following any discussions. The actual e-mail seems to be the sa...

Re: File manager batch using a Rexx procedure
Okay, after some experimenting, the following works for me (granted, it's a far more complicated solution than the problem required, but I've almost learnt something useful for the future). IF you do use this as a basis for your experiments, remember to change the the Å characters to $ (being In Swe...

Re: File manager batch using a Rexx procedure
I'm really after some sort of help or an example as to HOW to get the example described above working. For example, where is the REC 10 DATA 165 coming from and can it be directed somewhere else using a DD-name

What setting do I need to ensure that any replies to threads I've posted in are automatically sent to my registered e-mail
(assuming this is doable) ?

Re: File manager batch using a Rexx procedure
Sorry Anjali, did I miss something there? That doesn't have anything to do with Rexx and Batch, does it?

Re: File manager batch using a Rexx procedure
A follow-on to this append. I note that the manual talks about the FILEM. Rexx stem variable that can be created. I tried this using Rexx as the output option via 0.1 and then using 3.2 to print the file I'm after. After printing (no Rexx script specified in the Use Proc field), I pressed PF1 to see...

File manager batch using a Rexx procedure
The trouble for me, based on what I'm trying to do, is that I can't find any examples related to what I'm trying to do (and, yes, I could be going at it the wrong way, but that's simply due to my fumbling in the dark). Okay, here's what I'm trying to do. I want to run FM in batch so that it produces...

Re: Printing specific columns from File-Manager
Anuj. Maybe it's something as similar as a misunderstanding about what headers are. In my case, I'm talking about the actual "boiler plate" leading lines printed by FM. I might not want all the stuff that FM prints, starting with "1IBM File Manager for z/OS " etc etc. I'm not tal...

Re: Printing specific columns from File-Manager
Anuj - thank you. Header page on option 0.1 is not selected, but I still get the "IBM File Manager for z/OS" headers (plus the 2 extra lines with Device, Volser etc). As to why it's not chopping the output data on the expected columns (using TABL), I found the following in the FM Record li...

Printing specific columns from File-Manager
I'm new to FMAN and was asked by a user to print a file (they don't have access to z/OS). Hopefully, I'll include all the parms I've specified in the first attempt. I've included 2 screen captures of the settings I assume should be the ones needed. Trouble is, when I press Enter on the 3.2 panel, I'...
