Are you running the clist in your online session? Is your personal panel PDS allocated to your session? Is AMBPANEL only found in your personal panel PDS and not in any of the other PDSes that are allocated to your panel DD?

so? ISPF will happily copy them with a warning about truncation. But as the data is only in the first 80 bytes that is not a problem.

Re: How to determine CI size by key length?
For 20,000 byte (~20k) record you would want a minimum of 20k so the increment is 2k so you get:CI size can only be certain values (512 to 8192 by 512, 8192 to 32760 by 2048)
Undestand?20K, 22K, 24K, 26K, 28K, 30K, or 32760

It means it has space allocated on every volume because it had to use every volume to find enough space to meet the SPACE+ request.

Re: What is the meaning of C/P in Control-M?
C/P is not an acronym. An acronym is a word made from the letters of the full name of something e.g. SCUBA is an acronym of Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. When something like C/P is used in a manual it should have a description of what it stands for the first time it is used. Otherwise you will...

Re: How to get the file name?
If you use a fixed filename then there is no point in having it in hthe data - and if it is in the data and the filename is variable you still need to find out the filename by some other means. You need to keep it as simple as possible: a fixed filename that can be FTPed to the mainframe - probably ...

Re: How to get the file name?
You need to do more processing on the windows side: add the ASN to the header (there IS a header, right?), add it to the the trailer (there IS a trailer, right?) write the output of that process to a fixed filename and send it to the mainframe. The mainframe scheduler can then detect the arrival of ...

Re: format the input file if values are not given properly?
Why so long to respond? If you mean that you simply need to sort the data then sort it using the sort product installed at your site. Syncsort and DFsort have similar, but not always identical, control statements. For a simple sort such as you are suggesting then the control statements will be ident...

Or you could back up, using your backup software, the AB.CD.EF.GH.IJ data sets and restore them using the rename option. However, Robert is correct, as usual, and GDGs were designed for just this sort of naming requirements.

Re: Sort for comp-3.
I presume you mean 'data set'? Use the EXCLUDE option of DFSort. Sort does not care that the bytes that you are interested in are in the middle of a variable - sort does not deal with variables, it deals with bytes. Just look up the manual for the correct format to use.
