Hi,
I'm confused in using the CBT Tape Files - how do we download and actually start working with them. Can someone please help.

Re: How to work with CBT Tape?
Go to the web site, use either the search function or browse the list by clicking on the "CBTnnn is available to download now" link, then when you click on one of the file links the download prompt box appears. After the download is complete, unzip the cbtxxx.zip file and you will have a file cbtxxx.xmi (where xxx is the number of the file you downloaded). Transfer the XMI file to the mainframe IN BINARY FORMAT (this is NOT a text file) and use TSO command RECEIVE INDSNAME(<upload file name>). You will be prompted for a data set name to place the received data into; the syntax is DSNAME(<receive name>) and you will get a PDS named <receive name> with the source / object code / instructions in it.
Warning: not all sites allow application programmers to download / use CBT files; check with your site support group before doing anything with CBT files.

Thanks Robert.
Looks like the warning you gave about it is the key point for me. I was not able to load the files. But I was wondering, I can FTP files(notepad) from my computer to Mainframes but CBT is not allowed

Hi
The site also has the XMIT manager
You could also use that and save the scipts as .txt
Note : Last time when I saw it was not supported on 64 BIT windows
