ENTRY statement in IMS DB program?

ENTRY statement in IMS DB program?

Hi,

Is ENTRY statement mandatory for IMS programs? There is one program which is IMS Batch program, I need to make add a DB2 query to it. Will that make use of ENTRY statement mandatory?

I have confused myself. I have looked at my company's program library but there is not a single progam I could see which uses ENTRY if it is DB2. It starts like PROCEDURE DIVIDION USING.

My Manager said that DB2 program can not use ENTRY while I don't see that as a rule in manual but I am not very confident on that.
