Difference between inrec and outrec.

Hi ,

Could Someone Tell what is the Difference between inrec and outrec other than reformatting the fields before/after copying difference,I meant any Particular use case where inrec is used and a case where outrec is used?

As the name suggests - INREC is processed before the records are sorted, merged or copied. OUTREC is processed after the records are sorted, merged or copied.

One might argue that for SORT FIELDS=COPY INREC and OUTREC are just same -- it can be true unless INREC and OUTREC are used in the same SORT.

Thanks for the details Anuj, but what's the benefit of having two arguments. I think INREC and OUTREC can be used for each other?
