Legacy Data Store and "Database" store?

Hi,

What is the difference between "Database" & "Legacy Data Store"? Are rhey just same?

"Database", in its very crude sense, is a "structured" set of data stored (how it is stored is a different topic) in a computer which is accessible in various ways. Database in today's context might refer to MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and of course IBM DB2.

OTOH, "Legacy Data Store" can be - some data in the files, in some VSAM, ISAM and/or some hard-coded data in system/applications.

I've tried to answer your question from a little experience I've got in this field however, if you are looking for more detailed answer - please consider to provide more details on your question.
