CICS transaction is going in loop.

Hi,

This is the question I was asked in the interview to which I could not really answer apart from saying that we shall be using a monitoring tool to find it. the question is:

If one of your CICS transaction is going in a loop, how can you trace the problem? If this leads to help some of the resources how can we release them?

The obvious response the interviewer was probably looking for is to use the CEDF transaction, which displays a screen before each CICS command is executed. This allows you to see where in the program you are as well as see the EIB and program data. However, if the program loop does not include any CICS commands, CEDF will not be helpful.
