Sort for comp-3.

Post by Binamra »

Hi

I had file which is having Comp-3 variable Whose EMP id is 17 digits stored in comp-3 format. Now I want to exclude when 6 to 9 digits are 1000. How to write sort for it? Please help.

I presume you mean 'data set'? Use the EXCLUDE option of DFSort. Sort does not care that the bytes that you are interested in are in the middle of a variable - sort does not deal with variables, it deals with bytes. Just look up the manual for the correct format to use.
