Hi,

I've got an abend in a production Job. This had this message:

WER255A  VSAM LOGICAL ERROR 0C ON INPUT

When I searched for that, i got a conclusion that: The most common cause for this problem is when the VSAM dataset might have been created with the REUSE option, and the SyncSort run-time parameter RESET is not in effect.

But both the cases are not true in my case. Then what can be reason for this error? And surprisingly when we re-started the Job from abended step it worked. Why? We didnt change anything.

Have you talked to the vendor about this? If not, why not? They should be your FIRST point of contact with issues since they know the product far better than people on a forum will.

I have not talked to vendor. This is not a common thing which we do over hear. We start looking at our own application first. This job has not abended again. Do you think vendor will be willing to help just for the one such situation?
