Hi,

What is the difference between SB37, SD37 and SE37? Are not they all space abends?

They are all space ABENDS, however they are different types of space ABENDS. Typically, if you specify a volume serial for a disk data set, and that volume does not have enough free space for the data set, you will get an SB37. If you are allocating an SMS-managed data set, and the current volume cannot hold more extents and there are no more volumes with sufficient free space in the storage group, you will get an SE37. However, the differences can be subtle and you need to read the MAC (Messages and Codes) manual for details. Any Sx37 is a space ABEND and that is the key thing you need to remember.
