Form Overlays

Post by ktmdc »

Hi everyone! I found this forum by Googling a problem I'm having.

I am not a programmer, but I am an admin user of our payroll provider's mainframe. My issue is regarding print jobs with overlays. Please excuse me if I don't use the proper terminology, but I'll do my best to explain it clearly.

Using RPM Elite (from Brooksnet) we setup two virtual printers on our print server to receive jobs sent to specific "u number" printers. One saves the output as a text file on a network share, the other saves it as a PDF. When submitting the job to a physical printer, we can easily print data with a form overlay by selecting output class "L". This does not when using the PDF printer ID. We get PDFs of the typical JCL, but the form with the data never prints. (The job clears the queue.)

Has anyone experienced anything like this? Please let me know if I can provide any additional information to help clarify things.

I appreciate any help!

Thank you.

Are there any Message Log for any related errors or warnings, you can share?

On the other hand - please have a look at below manual, page 38 'Troubleshooting', might give a clue for the situation you describe:

Thanks,
Anuj
