Would you use XML or MQ to transfer the data ?
Would you use XML or MQ to transfer the data ?
Assuming that we have a set-up in which the front end is written in .Net and the backend is having VSAM files. Now for a real time interaction at the front end what is required as a set-up? Would you use XML or MQ to transfer the data and why you chose your option?
That was the question, can someone please guide to answer that question?

the question as asked does not make any sense...Would you use XML or MQ to transfer the data and why you chose your option?
That was the question, can someone please guide to answer that question?
XML is the container
MQ is the truck

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

Re: Would you use XML or MQ to transfer the data ?
Another interviewer pretending to know about technical matters. Unless the intent is to discover if the interviewee knows the difference between XML and MQ? MQ is one of many ways to transfer data between systems while XML is a way of encoding the data in a sequential file / data set that allows meta-data to be included. Comparing them directly makes no sense, as was pointed out.
Re: Would you use XML or MQ to transfer the data ?
But if we need to transfer the data from mainframe to distributed environment having only MQ set-up in place will work?

You have been given the answer to that question twice by two different people. Why do you want a third reply?
