Hi,

For the below structure of DBD

Code: Select all

 DBD NAME=TESTDBD,ACCESS=(HIDAM)
 *
  DATASET DD1=DATASET1,DEVICE=3390,SIZE=(2048)
  SEGM NAME=PART,BYTES=50,PARENT=0,
  FIELD NAME=(PLANT,SEQ,U),BYTES=010,START=001,TYPE=C
 *
  DBDGEN
  FINISH
  END
I need to add 5 fields in the segment SEGMENT PART. What needs to be done?

You need to edit the DBD using "the version control tool" at your shop. Add 5 to the BYTES for segment PART:

Code: Select all

SEGM NAME=PART,BYTES=55,PARENT=0,
and run the DBDGEN. Mostly DBDGEN is done by IMS DBA.

Hope this helps.

This had worked.

Something is wrong - all you have done is extend the field PART by 5 bytes but the original post says you want to add 5 new FIELDS! So which is it?
