Hi,

I'd like to know what is the functionality of parameter PERFORM in the JOBCLASS?

I've refered some books, which specifies that PERFORM determines the rate of programs being executed for accessing the system resources and the values given to these parameter is 0 to 999.

The question is - will it help in system performance if i define this parameter in JES2PARM ? As of now, the value defined for PERFORM in JES2PARM is 000; if it is increased to 10, how is it going to effect? Please guide.

In general, the PERFORM parameter is no longer useful in recent versions of z/OS (for the last 8 to 10 years) -- Workload Manager (WLM) has replaced it. If your site is using WLM, you need to find out the workload definitions in use to impact performance of your job.
