Yes, they sneakily jumped over 68.
What would 497 be, Anuj?

720? (provided 3 digits are allowed.)

I suppose the problem with any perhaps unrepresentative set of values is that any number of formulae may be intuited which may be defeated once further results are known.
So it was a bit of a silly question of mine. I went for digit one plus digit two plus (digits-one-and-two multiplied by digit three).
Perhpas the episode exists on YouTube so we can find out more?

Yeah, such questions can have so many different approaches to reach to an answer.
And there are other questions when they check your wittiness in 'that' moment; for example, in one of the interview the first question asked to an interviewee was - how many stairs you take to reach us?
I've heard that this question was asked in one of the interviews for highly admired administrative Services in India. What do you think, what answer was chosen as best?

"All of them"
"Only as many as I needed to".
"About the same as you did".
"None. We're on the Ground Floor"
"None. I took the lift".
"None. I overcame them".
"If I get the job, it'll be one of the first things I'll clarify".
"23. You mustn't forget that single step up from the street".

"Just double of their half" - was the answer which was selected. I just heard of it and have no evidence of proof though but this has stuck in mind for long enough...
