Hi All,
I am facing an issue while trying to read a VSAM file sequentially. The program is giving file status 92. The file was loaded properly, so I was expecting it to run fine.Has anyone faced this type of problem before? Is it something to do with the OPEN mode or DD statement mismatch? Please suggest what I should check first.

Re: COBOL file status 92 on VSAM
Hello.
File status 92 is a bit vague; "logic error" really doesn't say too much that's helpful. I'd be looking for other messages in the job output, specifically ones prefixed with "IDC", in order to get a little more information.

File status 92 on a VSAM file is frequently caused by not establishing a current record pointer before doing a read. If your VSAM is dynamic, move LOW-VALUES to the key and do a START before the READ. Otherwise, you'll need to post the FILE definition and the READ code for us to review.
