How many hours per day you use computer?

Hello,

Was just wondering , how it is with others? I use on average 7 to 8 hours per day, of course on mainframes and into sites/forum and chat of facebook, and you?

Many people tell me that I can have problems in eyes, can this be true?

Around 12 hours a day when there is not much work. When there is some work, I usually have to deal with insomnia (if sleeping for 4-5 hours is meant that - though I sleep like a log for those 4-5 hours) !

and the computer usage average outs to be around 16-18 hours a day.

That is a high usage. I use it around for 7-8 hours a day.

On average 9-11 hours.. Over weekend : 11-14 hours

naturally the work hours do not mean anything ( about usage ) ...
somebody could just sit in front of the screen looking at the depths inside it

what depth?

it depends on the screen technology ,

a few millimetres for the latest flat screen
up to a couple of feet for older ( much older ) 23 inches cathode screens

I started working with a company who had an old, very old, desktop computer on which the Microsoft excel won't open. They will take it to floppy drive, migrate it to other PC and try their luck... and I am talking about early 2006.
