IMS to DB2 migration.

Post by Jitesh Shah »

Hi,

I'm involved in a project where there are some business description about moving data from IMS to DB2 and there are justfication about it but in essence it is like migration from IMS to DB2:
  1. What is your advice for such a project? Can IBM have some case studies on this?
  2. What are the resources I should start from , apart from google?
  3. If you've some document/link with you, you think I should look at, please share them. It'll be very helpful.

What have you looked at yourself so far? I Googled ims to db2 migration and got 170,000 hits -- and the first page includes vendors that will help you do this, media articles on migrating, and posts about the topic on multiple forums.

When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort 8-)
