Re: Flags
At this moment 231 nations are listed. Please allow me to have some time I'll add them soon and inform you.nicc wrote:I notice that we are invited to select our flag. My flag, St Andrew's Cross for Scotland, is not listed but Wales is and England and Northern Ireland are not listed either.
Thanks,

Be cautious: These flags don't allow to set/reset themselves, neither defined at 88 level!William Collins wrote:The only flags I'm interested in are those that make business-logic work :-)

Re: Flags
Below are the images I found from a wiki link:nicc wrote:I notice that we are invited to select our flag. My flag, St Andrew's Cross for Scotland, is not listed but Wales is and England and Northern Ireland are not listed either.
Are they fine to be used or you'd like to suggest something else? There seem to be a good history behind the choice of flag, which I was not very aware of!
PS.: References are taken from wiki: e.g. - Flag of England

Re: Flags
The last is not the flag of England, but of Great Britain (the union of England and Scotland that existed 1707-1801).
"I come to the conclusion that, men loving according to their own will and fearing according to that of the prince, a wise prince should establish himself on that which is in his own control and not in that of others." -- Niccolò Machiavelli
Re: Flags
Try this - there are flags I have never seen before!
List of British flags
I would actually like to use the flag of Orkney as that is where half my ancestry is.

Added this:nicc wrote:I would actually like to use the flag of Orkney as that is where half my ancestry is.
Reference: Flag of Orkney
PS. Added Scotland as well. Will refine the appearance of them on weekend. Though you can choose them now, any edits in appearance will reflect on their own; you as an end user would not need to edit any settings in profile for that.

Re: Flags
I might have had been through a small episode of short-term-memory-loss and as a result it didn't clicked me that day. Search the flag for "Great Britain", I think England is covered then?nicc wrote:...Englandand [s]Northern Ireland[/s] are not listed either.

Re: Flags
For want of exact certainty about names (some flagists seem to go to all types of trouble about what flags should be called), the flag of Great Britain, aka the United Kingdom (full official name The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), is the Union Jack. As nicc described. The Great Britain part is England, Scotland and Wales, who each have their own more-or-less accepted "national" flags.
The English flag is the Cross of St George.
The English flag is the Cross of St George.
