When I tell somebody to RTFM or STFW I usually have the page open in another tab/window of my browser,
so that I am sure that the information requested can be reached with a very small effort

RECEIVE is a function of XMIT command, I mistook it for FTP. This is correct, right?

Yes, RECEIVE is the command used at the destination system. The TRANSMIT/RECEIVE commands operate via the JES2 spool and NJE links between systems. FTP uses the networking hardware through TCP/IP. The two aren't related.
