Your post is incoherent; MVS runs on mainframes/

Good, how? If you don't like operations, then it probably won't be good. for you And what do you mean by "MVS team" -- operator? system programmer? application programmer? data base administrator? something else entirely? And why does your post title put mainframe operation versus MVS -- since mainframe operations almost invariably involves MVS (z/OS), there is NO "vs" involved.

Hi rbmalav,

Do you understand now why I've asked you to create a topic on this, after talking in private, briefly? :)

MVS stands for "multiple virtual storage"- which is earlier form of the z/OS operating system. In current usage, the term MVS refers to those services and functions of z/OS other than z/OS UNIX system services, such as those provided by the base control program (BCP), a base element of z/OS.

"MVS Team" seems like a local jargon in your company. It's not a universal term used across the industry.

If they are training you to be in the "MVS Team", you've all the right to ask them what they are going to teach you. If your Point of contact (PoC) is not helping you, suggest get in touch with someone from the "MVS Team" and ask them what they do, on daily basis. Make a conscious move and then take a decision about it.
Thanks,
Anuj

In our comapny we call MVS Team to the team who takes care about the installation of vendor softwares. Mostly admin activities are done by them.
